THE DREAM

IMAGE ROUGE WAS BORN...

out of collaboration between fine craftsmen, artists, image specialists and a passionate art collector.

In an era of cheap digital printing, offset lithography and mass-produced imagery, we are faced with the problem of how to bring art and craftsmanship back into the world of images.

TRADITIONAL LITHOGRAPHY... was a union between the artisans who controlled the lithographic process, artists who not only created the masterpieces but were also closely involved in the lithographic process, and collectors and specialists who made the trade possible.

ADVERTISEMENT ART

We aim to recreate this process, offering something unique as a way of enriching advertisement art.

IMAGE ROUGE WAS BORN...

as a tribute to the relationship between Leonetto Cappiello

(1875-1942), the father of modern advertising, and Pierre Vercasson,

his trusted printer.

Their collaboration transformed the concept of advertising art.

They linked the product to a central theme or to a central protagonist in the advertisement itself.

PEOPLE STARTED TO ASK...

for the “green devil” aperitif. If they forgot the name, they would remember the green devil image itself … Maurin. Or maybe, the other one with the red Zebra… Cinzano.

THIS REVOLUTIONISED...

the way we responded to products as consumers and also our concept of brand recognition. It paved the way to the age of posters and mass advertisements.
